Rotorflight were recently involved with the new Air Ambulance unit to be based at Filton. They will co-exist with the existing Police unit already based there. Rotorflight were asked to provide helicopter ground training on Principles of Flight (H) and provide the 9 qualified Paramedics with navigation appreciation using 250,000 and 50,000 OS maps. Additionally principles like Vortex ring, PFL's and Flapback were demonstrated. Paul was also invited to take part in the loading and unloading of simulated stretcher cases in the August 109 Power with a final quick flight at the controls of the 109. It is hoped that other Ambulance units around the country will adopt the same training course and hopefully Rotorflight will be involved.
